SafePlace
The Village Community Center, 59 Henry Street has recently been designated as a SafePlace location in the Hilton-Parma community. SafePlace is a national youth outreach program that educates young people (12-17 years of age) about the dangers of running away or trying to resolve difficult, threatening situations on their own.
Following a training session involving the Village employees, Hilton-Parma Recreation staff and several members of the businesses at the Village Community Center, the Center for Youth Services added this building to their SafePlace registry. The Village Community Center will now extend its doors as an emergency shelter where youth can access immediate help when the building is open.
Two other established local SafePlace locations are the Hilton McDonalds and the Parma Town Hall located on Route 259.
